Sarah Hadley Horsemanship Challenge: Written Examination Study Resources

Over the years, folks have asked for a study guide for the written exam.  While we don’t have a study guide, we will be posting information which should help you with the test.

There will be a current events section of the test, especially during an Olympic year!  Questions may be taken from the current show year editions of Equestrian magazine (USEF) and In Stride magazine (USHJA).  Of course, you should be familiar with current events from VHJA – which can be found on our website or newsletters.

Other topics could include:

  • Horse health/veterinary
  • Equipment
  • Parts of the horse
  • Riding Theory
  • Stable management

Below Are Some Resources That May Help You:

~ U.S. Pony Club Study Guides:

The Pony Club study guides may refer to some Pony Club specific information, such as rallies or Eventing terms, however the horsemanship knowledge is universal.
